Picking Your Brain

thinking

Writing is something that I have always liked to do. Starting this blog and contributing to the Austin Mom Blog has given me an opportunity to get back at it. In doing so, I have realized that I am a bit rusty, especially in Spanish. The words don’t flow the way they used to. I mean, back in school I could whip out a research paper in no time.  This, of course, gave me plenty of time to goof around and party which probably wasn’t the greatest thing for my grade point average or my ability to get a “real job” afterwards. Now that I’m an old mama (not really old, just feel like it compared to “back in the day”), everything seems to take a little longer to do.  Having kids, everything takes even longer since you have to stop to actually care for the little guys sometimes. Ha!

I’ve been reading on how to get a blog going and everything I read states that you need interesting concept to catch the reader and put yourself out there to keep them interested. I don’t want to pigeonhole myself into language and culture, but I’m unsure of where to go from here.  I would like for it to continue to be about me and how to keep my kids bilingual, but I want it to be what you want to read. What things would you like to see covered? Please make suggestions. Would you be interested in giving me your perspective to post on my blog? I would love to add people’s thoughts into the actual blog and not just the comments.  If I were to make a survey, would you answer it? I’m just bouncing ideas off you, my few and lovely readers, to see how I can make this little blog keep you interested.  Don’t be afraid to be honest. I’m a big girl.  Thanks for taking the time to read this.

(If you would like to share my blog, I would be so grateful. You can also find it in Spanish at www.bilinguazo.worpress.com and on Facebook under www.facebook.com/bilinguazo. Thanks a bunch!)
